Remembering Grandma/Grammie Neis

On March 14, 2009, we lost Keith's grandmother, and our children's great-grandmother. She leaves behind a heritage greater than words can describe. Here is a small tribute to her starting from the time I knew her. We were greatly blessed by her, and will miss her dearly!Grandma made the long trip from Illinois to upstate New York for our wedding. After that long trip, she got sick and was unable to attend our wedding. Thank-you, Grandma, for coming.

When Keith graduated from college, his parents were in Brazil and were unable to attend. Grandma surprised us, coming all the way from Texas to come to his graduation. Words cannot express what that meant to Keith.

Great-Grandma came for our firstborn's dedication at church.
(Here are 4 generations!)

Keith Michael and I were able to fly to Texas to spend some time with Grandma. She, as usual, was such a great hostess.

Here Marc is pictured with the afghan that Grammie made for him. She made an afghan for each of her great-grandchildren!

We celebrated Mother's Day with Grandma in Illinois......she is 91 here.

Two different times I was blessed to attend a mother/daughter tea with my mother-in-law and grandmother-in-law in Florida.

This was taken on one of our vacations to visit Grammie in Florida.

Another trip to Florida......this time Benji and Grammie were both bundled up.....Benji with his afghan that Grammie made him.

Grammie with her great-grandsons on one of her visits to us.

Grammie travelled with Mom all the way from Florida to watch our boys so we could go house hunt in Texas (we were supposed to move, but never did)......that was no small feat for Grammie, but she did it with joy.

Grammie knew how to have fun.....always good for a laugh!

Another picture on another of your visits to see us......you visited us so faithfully, and we are so thankful!

Even at age 97, you lovingly made your youngest great-granddaughter a gorgeous afghan.

You traveled from Florida (at age 98) to meet your great-granddaughter.
That was so special!

Your great-granddaughter will hear wonderful stories of you, and will carry on an awesome heritage left by you.

Grandma, we will miss you. You loved greatly, and were greatly loved.....
THANK YOU!
